2020 Travel Bucket List

All of us love bed (our own beds( especially ), but sometimes it just feels great to GTFO of town for a moment. You jump in your airplane or hop in a car (really, it is probs another way around..If not, please give Kris Jenner my regards) and prepare your body for very good food, a few buzzy beverages, and shameless grab crap. But if you are literally Googling “bucket listing travel destinations,” odds are that you want a lil help choosing a location acceptable for dinking, drinking, and gaming.

Are we going beachy with endless piña coladas or more of a cultural adventure on a different continent? Or perhaps you’re simply interested in exploring more of the U.S. FWIW, you will get all the above in this listing below. If you are into tropical areas, consider Florida (hey, no shame!), Mexico, some Caribbean Islands, California, Croatia, and other sweet, sweet sandy getaways that made ze list of faves.

Check out Laguna beach (trust), upstate New York, Wyoming, Chile, Norway, Morocco, and much more below!

But no matter which destination on this listing you find yourself in, you will make sure to discover a lot of local tastes, amazing people, and perspectives that your iPhone 11 pro doesn’t really do justice. Oh, fun fact: We also triple checked that these areas are safe to travel to at the moment, thanks to U.S.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Assume Fort Lauderdale is made up of beaches, fancy hotels, restaurants, and stores? ..but also there is a state park just a five-minute Uber in the W Fort Lauderdale. Inside Hugh Taylor Birch State Park sits Park and Ocean, where you can kayak (or kayak, jet ski, or paddleboard) across a mile-long freshwater lagoon. There is also an open-concept pub and restaurant that is stocked with delicious regional beers.

Louisville, Kentucky
When you arrive, visit Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar and purchase the beef short rib and pulled pork. If red meat is not something, Doc Crow’s has other wonderful options like grilled oysters and shrimp. Then, head into the Bulleit Bourbon distillery to fangirl over the bourbon that is rather a big deal around the world.

Oaxaca, Mexico
The group of natural rock formations resemble a waterfall and are topped with naturally-formed turquoise springs. From the Oaxacan mountains, you will find snake-like rock formations on the floor that fills with water, including the mysterious visuals of the place. The ledges are safer than they look in photos, but be cautious!

Great Exuma, Bahamas
The crystal clear water, soft white sand beaches, and swimming pigs are really not a scam. Book and trip with Island Adventures and explore the Caribbean sea through snorkeling adventures, scuba diving, or sitting on a sandbar.

Brooklyn, New York
Reserve a few nights at the hipster-chic Williamsburg resort, Urban Cowboy, and spend a long weekend exploring all of the boroughs have to offer. Must-sees include Brooklyn Bridge Park, John Street Park, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, and strolling Bedford Ave.

Laguna Beach, California
There is more to Lauren Conrad’s hometown compared to shore and giant malls. Laguna Beach is home to Laguna Canyon, which cuts through the San Joaquin Hills in southern Orange County. There you will find The Ranch in Laguna Beach, a golf resort and spa with killer views and plenty to do, such as hiking trips or just chillin’ by the pool.

Marfa, Texas
Go and get your Prada Marfa shot for Instagram, then check into Tim Crowley’s Hotel Saint George and spend a day or so researching Marfa’s art associations, such as the Judd Foundation. Finish off with a meal in the Capri.

Aero Island, Denmark
Denmark is not just about Copenhagen, even though it’s wonderful there also. It’s well worth getting out to the very small fairytale island of Aero for a complete change of scenery.
